After a draining 8-hour day, all you can think about on the way home is a nice evening on your own couch or in bed. You simply have no desire or energy left to get anything done after work. Unfortunately, this is no isolated case, and almost every working person knows this picture of exhaustion only too well. But over time, it can turn into a problem that really needs to be taken seriously, especially when this unpleasant situation builds up additional stress. Many find it hard to leave the workplace behind mentally, so that they always seem tired after work.

Reasons that make you tired

Maybe you should investigate the causes that stress you most at the workplace and leave you always tired after work. After all, that's where you spend most of your time during the week. Many people want to give their full performance every day, and it's easy to overestimate yourself that way. But often it can be the normal commute that makes you seem tired before and after work. Whether it's long drives, annoying traffic jams, or noisy city traffic, all of these can be potential stress factors. On top of that, most people are stuck in a kind of hamster wheel. Every day is like the one before, there's no variety at all, and you quickly lose the enjoyment of the actual work, so motivation tips quickly and your willingness to put in effort keeps shrinking.

Counteracting the tiredness

Even if you're always tired after work, you should first and foremost relax. Relaxation is hard to define and is therefore quite individual, meaning it differs from person to person. What matters, though, is to find your own personal way to switch off. It is clear, however, that social contact can help you create a dividing wall between work and free time, since regular communication with others is going on constantly. Excessive drinking after work is definitely discouraged, and constant TV watching at the end of the workday is also more counterproductive than helpful for your own well-being. In a certain sense, a proper diet can also contribute to a healthy balance and boost vitality. It is advisable to eat enough, and especially light meals, at regular intervals or set times. You should also reach for low-carbonation water rather than your beloved coffee in the morning, which gives you energy for a short time but tends to make you sluggish over the course of the workday.
