Job Frustration - Demotivated and Unhappy!

Being trapped in a job that no longer gives you any joy at all is no rarity these days. More and more people are losing their desire to go to their daily work and would rather stay home - simply sick of their job.

Why Is That?

Are you one of those people who, first thing when getting up in the morning, ask themselves: "Do I really have to go there now?" or "Can't I just call in sick?". Then something is surely going wrong in your working life, because why else would you be sick of your job. If stress from time and deadline pressure is part of your everyday work life, it surely doesn't motivate you one bit to have to leave the house every day to earn money. Still, you make that trip again every day. After all, you depend on earning money. How else would you survive? As we know, without money nothing happens. Without income you can't even buy something to eat or meet up with friends anymore. So you have no choice but to march off to the job you don't like every day and somehow get through the day there.

Sick of My Job

But with every day your discomfort grows. You feel drained, listless, and downright unmotivated to lift even a finger for your boss. They don't appreciate your work either. If there is ever any praise, it's negative, because you messed something up pretty badly. That kills your desire to work twice and three times over. How are you supposed to concentrate on your work when you have to be afraid of botching something and being reprimanded and publicly shamed for it?

Have you ever asked yourself why you're sick of your job? Is it the company or the work itself that you have to do day after day? If it's the company, switching companies is an advantage, to regain motivation for showing up to work. If your listlessness comes from the work itself, a career change can prove more difficult, but it's definitely advisable to think about it.

Being sick of your work and your job is not a lasting solution for becoming happy. Joy and fun at work are enormously important - for your health, too. Your mind in particular can suffer from being sick of your own job.
