How to land your dream job:

But finding the right job can also be quite tedious. Work experience naturally helps you fit the job profile. A very good application earns you a lot of points. If you can then shine with your expertise in the job interview, your chances of getting the position you want go up enormously. If the employer likes you, you'll usually get the chance to prove yourself. During a probation period, the employer can get to know you. But you also have the chance to see whether the job suits you. If it doesn't, you have to think about whether this position might not be right for you. In that case, you'd better look for something else.

Preventing unemployment:

To prevent unemployment, you should write and send speculative applications. See which companies appeal to you and maybe broaden your fields of work. Through connections ("Vitamin B") you can often get insider knowledge, and your application might hit exactly the right note at the right time. That's usually half the battle. It's best to write these applications while you're still on probation at your other company. That way you never end up unemployed in the first place. You have a steady income, and no gap opens up in your résumé either. Jobs in Wuppertal may be rare, but with the right tactics you'll definitely find your dream job.
